Current openings:

  • 2 fully-funded Ph.D. slots for Summer/Fall 2027 admission.
  • 1 Postdoc position focused on multi-system resilience, human mobility, and network science.
  • Research Assistants focused on large language models and data-driven traffic simulation.

Students with backgrounds in data science, computer science, operations research, transportation, geography, or related fields are welcome to apply. Ph.D. Funding Options:

  • Self-funded Ph.D.: RA (research assistantship) will be provided.
  • Regular Ph.D. Scholarship: Full doctoral scholarship (~HK$19,600/month).
  • Presidential PhD Scholarship: Two tiers, based on your undergraduate institution.
    • Tier 1 — QS/THE Top-10 / Tsinghua or Peking University: monthly stipend higher than HKPFS, plus full tuition coverage and an accommodation allowance.
    • Tier 2 — QS/THE Top-20 / C9 / UCAS: full living stipend, plus a 50% tuition waiver.
  • Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS): Monthly stipend up to HK$27,100, plus tuition waiver and conference travel allowance. Requirements: 985 or QS Top-100 undergraduate (C9 preferred); master’s degree and overseas experience preferred; first-authored SCI publication preferred.
  • Joint Ph.D. Program (Mainland Collaboration Scheme): Dual degrees from a mainland university and CityU, with a full doctoral scholarship while at CityU. Apply early November to mid-January. C9 preferred.

Note: “C9” counts all campuses of a C9 university — e.g., Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, HIT (Shenzhen), and HIT (Weihai).

    • 第二档——QS/THE 前20 / C9 / 中国科学院大学：全额生活津贴，学费减半。
  • 香港政府博士奖学金 (HKPFS)：要求985或QS前100本科（C9优先）；有硕士学位和留学经历优先；一作SCI发表优先（约27,100港元/月）。
  • 联合培养博士（Mainland Collaboration Scheme）：内地高校与城大双博士学位，在港期间提供全额博士奖学金。申请期为11月初至1月中。C9优先。

注：C9 涵盖各校所有校区，例如北大深圳研究生院、哈工大（深圳）、哈工大（威海）。
